Frequently asked questions about ICS and CDARS accounts.

  • ICS stands for IntraFi Cash Service®. Your funds are placed in demand deposit accounts or money market deposit accounts across IntraFi network banks.

  • CDARS stands for Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service®. Your deposits are placed in CDs across IntraFi network banks.

  • ICS and CDARS are financial services that give you access to millions in aggregate FDIC insurance across IntraFi network banks. Institutions, like ours, that offer ICS and CDARS are members of the IntraFi network.

When we place your funds through the ICS or CDARS service, that deposit is divided into amounts under the standard FDIC insurance maximum of $250,000. The funds are then placed in demand deposit accounts or money market deposit accounts (using ICS), or in CDs (using CDARS), at multiple network banks.

  • The main difference between CDARS and ICS is the type of account in which your funds are placed. With ICS, your funds are placed in demand deposit accounts, money market deposit accounts, or both. With CDARS, your funds are placed in CD accounts.

Under CDARS®, your money is locked in until the end of a set term. ICS®, however, allows you to move your money in and out as dictated by your needs and desires.

  • Yes, you’ll receive regular statements with detailed reporting provided by us. You can also check account balances and accrued interest for ICS and CDARS, 24/7, with an online dashboard.

  • Yes, you have liquidity options available with demand deposit accounts and money market deposit accounts, and the multiple term options offered with CD placements.

You can set rules that determine when your funds will be transferred using ICS into deposit accounts at other IntraFi network banks or returned to your relationship bank. These transfers occur automatically and seamlessly. With CDARS, you can choose from a range of maturities to meet your cash management needs.
